Taking Therapy Outside
Maybe you find the normal therapy set-up intimidating.
Or maybe you just spend enough time sitting down every day and you’d rather be outside.
Many clients find that the combination of fresh air, movement and natural surroundings can be extremely beneficial to lift mood and reduce anxiety, and science is also beginning to support this insight.
I have completed a core training in Outdoor Psychotherapy and am a professional member of the Ecopsychology and Ecotherapy Association of Ireland (EEAI). At present, I offer a limited number of sessions each week outdoors in Terenure’s beautiful Bushy Park.
I will meet you at the park gate and we will walk for 50 minutes, conducting our otherwise normal therapy session on the move.
Walk and talk sessions are not suitable for every client or presenting issue, so an initial session is always conducted indoors first to determine suitability.
