Becoming a parent is one of the biggest challenges you will ever face.
It’s ok to need support.
All sorts of things change when you have a baby.
Your body may feel different, your emotions may be up and down, your relationships may change in all sorts of unexpected ways.
You may have had a traumatic delivery, or be dealing with postnatal depression.
You may feel isolated, anxious about coping with everything, or just permanently exhausted.
And of course, you are learning to bond with your baby and take care of them.
It’s a whole new world, and it’s normal to feel at times as if you’re the only one who didn’t get the guidebook.
Parenthood can be overwhelming, but it can really help to talk. I’m a mum as well as a psychotherapist, and I’d love to help you find your feet so that you can enjoy this time and feel like yourself again.
You can even bring your baby with you if you need to (although at present most of my work is online), or we can arrange a ‘walk and talk’ session with the pram.
Call or email today to make an appointment or ask a question.
Disclaimer: I work with adults, not children. But I can refer you to a great child or adolescent therapist if needed.
